Joints, arranged in steps. For this, proceed as follows: - overlap joints shall be separated by at least two horizontal-siding layers; - avoid overlap joints above and under windows; - leave at least 1 m distance between overlap joints in the next horizontal-siding layer.. |
Horizontal siding joints may also be made with the use of channel 'H'. It is used mainly for joining horizontal sidings of different profiles on the same wall. |
Installing of façade siding above and under window openings. Proceed as follows: - adjust the horizontal siding to the window by cutting out the lower edge of the siding, which is introduced in the channel, type 'J'; - hook the uncut part of the horizontal siding in the lock of the previous horizontal channel. The vertical cuts in the horizontal siding are to be made with scissors while the horizontal cuts - with a knife. |
Installation of the last row of horizontal sidings under cornices or eaves requires: - installing of finishing trim which is to be nailed to a horizontal wooden lath; - adjusting of final horizontal siding and cutting out its upper edge; - making of indentations, at a distance of 6 mm from the upper edge of the horizontal siding, using a press tool; - sliding of prepared horizontal siding in the lock of the lower panel and in that of the finishing trim. |
Installation of a soffit ceiling. Use either solid or perforated soffit strips. Soffit ceiling installing is enabled by the channels, type 'J', which are nailed to wooden beams or laths of the (upper) floor/ceiling. While installing, the soffit is to be slid in the channel, type 'J' by snap mounting. Nail the finishing trim at the ends while joining it with type-'J' channels. Bend the last panel to insert it in the channel, type 'J', when installing. |
ASSEMBLING RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Use aluminium or galvanized-steel nails of ø 3x38 mm (nail head of ø 8 mm) for mounting of façade siding elements. Leave a gap of approx. 1 mm between nail head and the horizontal siding.
2. Siding elements of PVC-U may be cut with scissors for metal, hacksaw or a knife. If a circular saw is to be used, turn its blade with cutting edges backwards to obtain a smooth cut edge.
3. If cutting is done at low temperatures, below 5oC, use a blade with fine teeth.
