PE pipes for water

The GAMRAT polythene pipes are made of polyethylene (density over 930 kg/m3) by means of extrusion moulding with an addition of antioxidants, stabilizing agents and pigments necessary to manufacture pipes of specific mechanical properties and weldability. High quality of materials, world-class technology and possibility of analytical testing and inspection enable us to manufacture high-quality pipes that comply with world standards.

The GAMRAT polythene pipes are designed for transportation of drinking water, technological liquids, and sewage. They can be also used as a protective tube. This variety of applications results from excellent physical and mechanical properties of the polythene pipes including their resistance to aggressive media. At the same time the polythene pipes are physiologically neutral and harmless to environment.

Advantages of PE pipes

The GAMRAT polythene pipes, supported by a range of fixed or detachable fittings, are a uniform and universal system guaranteeing over 50 years of successful operation.

The system is characterized by:
»  excellent mechanical strength;
»  high impact resistance (the PE pipes do not break when struck even at low temperatures /down to – 80°C);
»  very good elasticity;
»  the pipes can be capped to stop the flow of liquids for repair works;
»  smooth internal surface to reduce resistance of flow;
»  low weight;
»  easy and quick fitting;
»  resistance to corrosives present in soil;
»  resistance to stray currents;
»  physiologically neutral - no contaminants enter the environment
.

Physical and mechanical properties

The GAMRAT polythene pipes for water supply and sewage transportation are made of:
»  PE 80 class material for pressures of 0,5; 0,63; 0,8; 1,0; 1,25 MPa (PN 5; PN 6,3; PN 8; PN 10 and PN 12,5),
»  PE 100 class material for pressures of 0,6; 1,0 and 1,6 MPa (PN 6; PN 10 and PN 16).

The pipes are manufactured in blue or black. In case of black pipes it is possible to plot four or six colour stripes.

Pipes made of PE-100 can work at higher pressure than pipes made of PE-80 although wall thickness is the same in both types. The effective internal area of a PE-100 pipe is about 17% bigger than that of a PE-80 pipe at the same nominal pressure.
